Symptoms: You are trying to use your laptop, but the touchpad (mouse cursor) is completely unresponsive, or the right/left click buttons are not registering your inputs.
Resolution: In 90% of these cases, the touchpad has not failed physically; it has simply been disabled by accident using the laptop's function keys. Please follow these steps to re-enable it:
The Quick Fix: Look at the top row of your keyboard. Press the F5 key. This is the dedicated shortcut to toggle the touchpad on and off.
Alternative Shortcut: If pressing F5 alone does not work, hold down the FN key (usually located near the bottom left of your keyboard) and press F5 at the same time (FN + F5).
Test the Surface: If the touchpad works but feels less sensitive or "clicks" improperly, ensure the laptop is placed on a flat, hard surface (like a table). Using the laptop on soft or uneven surfaces (like your lap/knees or a bed) can put uneven pressure on the chassis and temporarily affect touchpad mechanical clicks.
If the issue persists after trying FN+F5, please reply to your support email or open a new ticket, and our team will escalate this for a potential repair.

I had registered a complaint about the touch pad performance. Was notified by email to set up an account. I was referred to an article on how to fix the touch pad problem. But the article did not help with my situation. When I first turn on the laptop, the touch pad appears to work ok. But after a few minutes 5-10, the problems come back again. Lagging. Unresponsive. windows opening on their own without any selections being made. working slightly then hardly able to move the cursor on the screen.
