Symptoms: Your laptop experiences an unexpected shutdown or completes an automatic Windows update, and afterward, your speakers stop working, or your microphone no longer picks up sound.
Resolution: In most cases, an unexpected shutdown or background update can cause the Windows audio drivers to temporarily hang or conflict; this rarely indicates physical hardware damage. Please follow these steps to restore your audio:
Run the Windows Audio Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > System > Sound. Scroll down and click on Troubleshoot. Windows will automatically scan for and restart any hung audio services.
Reinstall Audio Drivers: If the troubleshooter doesn't work, right-click the Windows Start button and select Device Manager. Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, right-click your audio device, and select Uninstall device. Once uninstalled, restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall a clean version of the driver upon booting up.
Contact Support: If you still have no audio after a restart, please email
service@nimopc.comwith your Order Number, and our tech team will assist you further.
