Symptoms: When attempting to join a video call or open the Camera app, your screen remains black, or others cannot hear you because the microphone is not registering input.
Resolution: We understand how critical your camera and microphone are for daily use. Before requesting a repair, please check these common system-level restrictions:
Check the Physical Privacy Switch: Some NIMO models are equipped with a physical privacy shutter over the webcam. Ensure the slider is completely open and not covering the lens.
Windows Privacy Settings: Press the Windows Key and type "Privacy settings". Navigate to the Camera and Microphone tabs. Ensure that the global switch for "Let apps access your camera/microphone" is toggled to ON.
Keyboard Shortcuts: Look at the top row of your keyboard (F1-F12) for a key with a camera or microphone icon (sometimes with a slash through it). Press this key (or hold FN and press this key) to disable the hardware-level mute or camera lock.

None of these steps helped, and my laptop does not have a key with a microphone icon. In Settings there is no recognized input device at all.
None of these steps helped me either. I also do not have a key with a camera or microphone icon. In Settings - Camera, there is no “change” option.

What I need is the camera driver so I can load it myself because there is no camera recognized by Windows.
My microphone makes a horrible sound and the external. Microphone won't work.

No camera recognized by windows…is there a fix for this? I need my webcam for meetings and such.
I have a model N178 laptop - camera and microphone not working, not listed in Device Manager. I found this fix - worked for me: Shut down laptop. Remove power cord. Wait about 30 seconds. Hold down power button for at least 30 seconds. If computer starts shut down again. If does not start - mine did not, insert power cord and restart. Camera then recognized in Device Manager. The key is shut down, remove power cord, hold power button 30 secs, restart. Hope it works for y'all.
None of these steps work. Windows, device manager says the camera is there and working properly. But if that were true, I could view myself on the camera or teams or zoom, but that is not the case. It is a consistent black screen. And now I'm learning the microphone doesn't work either. I have tried going to your support page and downloading a new driver updated one, but it won't do anything. I have gone into settings and reset and then tried repair and nothing seems to work. So, question if this is clearly a known problem with your system, why not fix it before reproducing said product? Just curious.
Also, since I bought this through best buy, could I assume I can take it back to BestBuy and see if they can fix the issue? Or does it need to be sent back to your warehouse for further diagnostic? I really don't want to have to buy a replacement while it gets fixed. There must be something you can do for your customers who are just trying to have a decent product. Everything else on the system works (that I know of).
so on the F keys, the only emblems I see are:
z with a square root z on top
light dimmer
Light booster
a screen with lines on the side signifying some type of action
calculator (i think)
No sound
Little sound
Much sound
keyboard lit
then a square with measure corners within it
then two pc's with arrows pointing to either one
then airplane mode
That's it, that's left to right, F keys. There is no key showing a microphone or camera on any of those keys.
why would you instructions tell customers to push the camera/microphone F key when there is none? Do you not know the very product you're selling?
You should not be giving general instructions when your products are different in framework and design. A lot of us can figure out how to configure things or fix things on our own if we just have the right directions and layout of the keyboard and such.
